Reel News: Everything Must Change

Come and join us for our usual informal blend of film, discussion, music, drinks and resistance for a major new Reel News film – EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE.

We are faced with rapidly accelerating multiple crises. Energy bills, housing costs and food prices are all shooting up, there is a lack of secure, well-paid jobs, and on top of that if we don’t take drastic steps to bring down carbon emissions by the end of the decade, runaway climate change is inevitable. But all these things are connected.

We are in this mess because of a fossil fuel economy based on profit and injustice – but we could solve all these crises if we moved towards a renewable energy economy based on people’s needs and social justice. We need to start seeing all these crises as different aspects of the same struggle – and then get organised with a long-term plan and vision to change everything.

This film will hopefully contribute to a debate about how we do that, with numerous examples of inspiring struggles and campaigns that can lead us to a worker-led “just transition”. So come and join us to have that debate over a drink, get organised, and dream of another world that is definitely possible!
