DESCRIPTION:The Embers are a five-piece folk and roots band\, bringing together the story-telling tradition of British folk music with the soul of Americana and a bluegrass swing. Performing regularly in London\, and at a host of festivals and venues across the UK\, they bring sorrowful harmonies\, driving rhythms and break-neck fiddle to keep you dancing and sobbing into the night in equal measure. \nDublin troubadour Rob Corcoran is a much respected figure on the London roots scene\, with folk legend Christy Moore including his version of Corcoran’s brilliant ‘Ringing That Bell’ as a key song in his current touring set\, and on his recently released live album. Corcoran’s lyrically compelling\, beautifully observed songs are drenched in Celtic soul\, drawing from the same deep wells that serve Van Morrison and Mike Scott so well. Present too is a strong thread of influence from the heart-on-sleeve poetry of John Prine\, Hank Williams and Leonard Cohen.

He’s the regular tour support for John Cooper Clarke and often MCs shows for The Libertines. He’s a regular on Radio 4 and has won a Fringe First for writing \, a Stage Award for performance\, and four Saboteur Awards. \nMARTIN ROWSON\nSince becoming a full-time professional cartoonist six months after he graduated in 1982\, Martin’s work has appeared regularly across the gamut of UK newspapers and magazines\, from The Guardian\, via Time Out\, Morning Star and The Erotic Review\, to The Times and Spectator\, as well as The Independent on Sunday\, Daily Mirror\, Daily Express\, Index on Censorship\, Tribune\, The Racing Post\, New Humanist\, The Modern Review\, The Sunday Correspondent\, The Irish Times\, The European\, The New European\, Today\, Sunday Today\, The New Statesman\, The Observer and\, indeed\, almost everywhere you can think of apart from The Sun and Private Eye.

Channeling the raw power of MIDI technology\, Big World will transform the very fabric of electronic music. \nCrazy Paving: \n“Crazy Paving is a fun way to arrange stones\, bricks\, or concrete in a mix-and-match style” – patiopavings.co.uk. \nCrazy Paving debuted last year with two Eps (‘Country Songs for the City’ and ‘Habit Hole’) and is the name under which Robbie Carman writes and releases music. Though the songs sound like complaints\, they are more of an attempt to shed light on the common\, but often unstable\, ground we share. This takes place against a backdrop of alt- country\, folk-indie music that has been influenced by the likes of Beck and Little Wings but with a 70s-British edge\, you can hear traces of Fairport Convention and Faces in there too. Like the garden feature\, Crazy Paving songs are a jagged jigsaw that fits together to form a sonic path and invites you to walk down.

DESCRIPTION:Inspired and informed by the waves of recent pub closures and with intention to remind us of what will be lost without them\, ‘The Regulars’ is a socially surreal and absurd comedy show which aims to immerse its audiences in the culture and atmosphere of the Pub.  The show hopes to pay ode to the weird and wonderful characters we have all come across within pubs that make it what it is. Join the eponymous pub regulars as they laugh\, cry\, gamble and of course drink their way through life’s many ups and downs.  In this show\, we hope to establish a pub community\, one that usually takes lifetime to achieve\, in one night. A raucous love letter to pubs\, pub culture and the importance of community in the face of overpriced Guinness\, based on real stories from real people. We want to highlight the importance of community/ third spaces whilst they are still around. We hope to put more shows on\, like this one\, specifically at pubs as the spending from audience members at the bar and new clientele is vital lifeblood to keep them open in an uncertain landscape. Next round is on you!!
