Ex-Vöid attack with a serene intertwining of dual vocals and guitars\, a harmonious afront that pushes the three minute structure to it’s very limits. Debut album “Bigger Than Before” was released on Prefect Records and Don Giovanni Records in 2022\, recorded live and dangerously in just under an hour. Guitar-pop fans rejoice\, it’s about to get sweaty. \nMORGAN NOISE\nUnexpected rhythms\, wonky synths and vocals are woven together by Morgan Noise in a perfect chaos. A regular at the Windmill\, and recently supporting Porridge Radio on their tour\, Morgan Noise has been making waves around London. Something new to wash out your ears\, you will not hear what is coming until it’s too late \nMOUNT DOOM\nFrom the very depths of Middle Earth emerge Mount Doom. The group take the famed soundtrack of the Lord of the Rings trilogy\, filtering the compositions through a sludge and doom metal lens to make the ground quake beneath our feet. More entrancing than Galadriel\, more powerful than the Horn of Helm Hammerhand\, bask in the glory of Mount Doom. \nLOU TERRY\nA firm fixture around The Ivy House\, Lou is one of our favourite music makers in the city. Harsh and experimental guitar tones blend with often deeply confessional and heartfelt song writing that result in a sound that can only be described as “raw power” in every sense of the phrase. He’ll make you weep\, he’ll make you jump in pure ecstasy. Lou Terry forever. \nSTRANGE DEVOTION\nA new group bringing an incredibly unique take on wonky new wave to the table. DESCRIPTION:Gather Round the Fire presents a magical evening of folk and singer-songwriter at our favourite community run venue in SE London. \nFREDA DSZOUSA\nFreda D’Souza is an artist who contentedly creates at snail’s pace. Her world is small; simplicity reveals detail and\, in turn\, detail reveals infinity. Freda cherishes space. In space\, there is tenderness. \nMAISIE SOPHIA\nDrawing on influences from psychedelic and progressive-folk to Sufi music\, Maisie’s ethereal vocals and earthy finger-picking guitar create a melodic cradle to quiet the mind and soothe the soul. Lyrically\, her songs delve into our connection to the divine and to nature\, and grapple with the pain of impermanence and individuation\, all amidst the mystifying tangles of life’s experiences. \nLUCY LUNDSTRÖM\nIn Lucy’s songwriting we find personal anecdotes interwoven with images from fairytales\, myths and places. Her inspiration ranges from English contemporary folk music\, such as Daisy Rickman\, the visionary art of Swedish Painter John Bauer\, and the films of David Lynch. \nCAITLIN KING \nCaitlin is a singer-songwriter from Southend-on-sea\, Essex\, now a Goldsmiths UOL graduate. DESCRIPTION:Join local award-winning poet Caroline Druitt for a fun creative writing workshop at The Ivy House Nunhead. \nWith creatively challenging and original prompts for all levels\, you will be guided through a series of exercises to generate new writing. We will look to the work of other writers for inspiration and discussion. There will be opportunities to share in a relaxing\, supportive and nourishing environment. \nThis is for you if you: \n\nwant to make space for a writing practice\nenjoy meeting your local community\nlike learning new things\nare up for trying something new and fun\nwould love to support an amazing charity\n\nLed by Caroline Druitt\, an award winning poet living in South East London. Her poems have been published by AndOtherPoems\, Lucent Dreaming\, Anthropocene\, The North Magazine and commissioned by Apples and Snakes. In 2023 she was long-listed for the Outspoken prize\, shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award and commended in the National Poetry Competition. DESCRIPTION:Sad Machine presents Trust Fund at The Ivy House\, in celebration of his new album ‘Has It Been A While’\, released 2nd November on Tapete Records. Ellis will be joined by a string quartet for this show\, which will be half seated + half standing. Support comes from H. L. Grail. \nEllis Jones has played music as Trust Fund since 2012\, releasing four albums that range from lo-fi bedroom pop to full-band indie rock. His songs have been critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone\, Pitchfork and The Guardian\, and endorsed by Frank Ocean’s Blonded Radio. Trust Fund have played extensively in the UK and EU\, including tours supporting Mitski\, Frankie Cosmos and Los Campesinos! After an extended break since 2017\, Trust Fund recently returned with the self-released singles ‘Capital’\, ‘Late Nite Skate’\, ‘Animals In War’ and ‘London’ – these quiet\, introspective indie-folk songs have been playlisted by NPR\, Merge\, New York Times\, and others. \nHas It Been A While\, Trust Fund’s fifth full-length record\, is released 2nd November 2024 on Tapete Records. \nH. L. Grail is the solo moniker of Goat Girl’s Holly Mullineaux. Sonically citing the subtle works of Tirzah\, Okay Kaya\, Adrienne Lenker and Slint member David Pajo’s Aerial M\, her vulnerable acoustic-lead sound dips its toes into the experimental and the ethereal. \nPresented by Sad Machine.
